Hello Everyone!
I am so excited about being the new Miss Ohio USA 2008 and look forward to a fun filled and busy year. I am also looking forward to sharing my memories with you on my blog.
For my first blog I want to give you a little background information about myself. I figured that in this day and age of MySpace and Facebook the best way to do that is in the form of a "getting to know you" survey...I love surveys!
Physical
Hair Color- Dark Brown
Eye Color- Hazelish Brown (or Murky Dark Green)
Height- 5' 9"
Best Physical Attribute- Legs...my grandma says they go all the way up:)
Favorite Things
TV Show- This is a tough one for me, I can be a bit of a TV Junkie. I love the classics like the Flip Wilson Show, Get Smart, Green Acres, Family Ties...and so on. Currently I am into A LOT of reality TV; Run's House, Project Runway, The Biggest loser, Beauty and the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Top Chef, Sunset Tan (sad but true) and too many more to name. I also loved Sex and the City, The Sopranos and Friends. I am a big fan of Ellen and any Law and Order shows as well.
Movie- Again this list could go on and on; Caddyshack, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Tombstone, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Evita, Blue Hawaii (any Elvis movie) Rocky (all), The Godfather Trilogy, Love Actually (and anything with Hugh Grant) Office Space, Super Troopers, Fight Club, Muppet's Take Manhattan...I guess you could say I am a Movie Junkie too!
Band/ Singer- Jimmy Buffet, Jack Johnson, ELVIS, David Grey, Ella Fitzgerald, Keith Urban, Louis Jordan, Lorenzo Jovanotti, Modest Mouse, Gary Jules, The Spike Drivers (local and so good) Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Chris Cornell (and any band he is with) the Killers, George Strait, Patsy Cline, Kings of Leon, Wilco, Johnny Cash, REM...OK, I also have a music obssession
Album- I got it down to a top 5...Paul Simon- Graceland, Jimmy Buffet- Banana Wind, Modest Mouse- Good News for People who love bad news, Gary Jules- Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets, Jack Johnson- Brushfire Fairytales
Food- Filet Mignon, Mac and Cheese, Potatoes (all potatoes!) Eggs, Chocolate Mousse, Mom's Chicken Pot pie, Spaghetti Squash, Cream of Cauliflower Soup, Grandpa's Champagne Chicken, Starliner Diner's Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo...I love to eat but all of these delicious items have been put on hold for a while:(
Can You
Whistle- Yes and even like different birds, including seagulls (I had a lot of time on my hands as a child)
Speak a Different Language- Kind of... I went to a French elementary school and studied in High School but I must confess my French is "pas si bon". Sometimes I understand Spanish but for the life of me don't know how.
Cook- I do cook..not often...but am a better baker
Blow a Bubble- I can blow bubbles thanks to my cousins Heather, Heidi and Mike. They also taught me how to tie my shoes...big thanks for that
Do a Split- only my pants on occasion. I am really flexible and double jointed in my arms but a split is something I can't do
Impersonate someone- Oh Yeah! I do Cher, Julia Child, Tina Turner, Marylin Monroe, and a little Elvis to name a few. I started doing impersonations at age 3. I did "Back in Babies Arms" by Patsy Cline at the Monroe County Fair (thanks Aunt Karen & Uncle Harry for driving)
So there is a little bit about me. In addition I am a Television Reporter, Traffic and Entertainment, for WCMH NBC 4 in Columbus Ohio. My sign is Cancer and I do enjoy long walks on the beach ;)
